Akshay Kumar Donates Rs.1 Cr for Chennai

Flood relief operations are being carried out in Chennai. Our Hyderabad team is also monitoring relief works and medical assistance is the prime requirement now. Tamil film industry is doing its bit in bringing back Chennai to normal state. Also, it is revealed that actors are adopting some areas and villages and are doing their best in helping victims of floods. Our Telugu actors have already contributed money to chief minister’s relief fund and are supplying food and required materials to people in Chennai. Hindi actor Hrithik Roshan donated Rs.25 lakhs, which is known to us. Now, latest addition to the list is Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. Akshay, after watching the visuals of Chennai floods, has been moved and announced donation of Rs.1 crore for Chennai.
The news was revealed by Tamil media and PRO Nikhil Murugan posted the same on twitter. After the huge disaster caused by heavy rainfall in Chennai, many Celebrities have been offering helping hands to needy people. Akshay Kumar wanted to help people affected by floods in Chennai. In this regard,  he called Director Priyadarshan, who in turn directed him to contact actor Suhasini Maniratnam for further proceedings. After discussing with Suhasini’s, Akshay Kumar donated Rs.1 Crore to Bhoomika Trust which is looking after food preparation and distribution in Chennai.
