Baahubali…The epic that has already set many new records with its block buster hit. Baahubali has now set a new record as the most watched film of the decade. It can be said that Baahubali can be regarded as the most watched film during 21st century and also in the history of Indian cinema. While Rajinikanth’s Robot and Aamir Khan’s 2 Idiots were watched by 3 crore people (three crore cinema tickets-watched in theatres), this record was broken by Aamir Khan’s PK which was watched by 3.5 crore people. The record set by PK in full run is now broken by Baahubali in just two weeks.

During first 2 weeks after release, 1.6-1.7 crore tickets were sold in AP and Nizam areas. With the sale of these tickets, Baahubali collected gross of round Rs.120 crore. In Karnataka, during first 2 weeks, 40 lakh tickets were sold, collecting gross amount of Rs.51 crore. In Tamil Nadu and Kerala, 55-60 lakh tickets were sold, collecting Rs.59 crore gross. Adding up all these, in South alone around 2.6-2.7 crore people watched Baahubali, says box office trade. In North India, while 90 lakh people watched Baahubali, it earned gross amount of Rs. 103 crore. On the whole, 2.6-2.7 crore tickets in South ndian and 90 lakh tickets in South India… totally amount to more than 3.5 crore people (tickets) watched Baahubali.

Baahubali breaking record set by PK in just 2 weeks is surprising the Bollywood trade experts. They are pretty sure that Baahubali will be watched by more than 5 ccrore people in long run.

NOTE: Some classic movies made during 70s and 80s might have been watched by many more people. But as details regarding those movies are unavailable, currently the record belongs to Baahubali..
