Baahubali Rejected by IFFI
When Rajamouli’s Baahubali was released, many said that the film will raise standards of Telugu cinema to a whole new level and stand as a pride of TFI. But when it comes to some prestigious film festivals, Baahubali failed to make an entry. The jury members once again kept Telugu films aside and indirectly proved a point that we are lacking behind the good, engaging content that drives audiences to theatres. Major shock now comes after the film failed to make an Oscars entry. The latest is that Baahubali has been rejected to be screened in Indian Panorama section at the 46th International Film Festival of India. A total of 5 entries from Tollywood were sent for IFFI screening but no movie has been picked by jury. A total of 26 films have been selected. Chandamama Kathalu director Praveen Saththaru, one of the jury members, in a statement revealed that the film Baahubali did not meet the norms prescribed by the committee.
