Complaint Filed on Lalit Modi by Rashtrapathi Bhavan
Complained was filed against former IPL founder Lalit Modi who created sensation over Twitter with his controversial tweets by Rashtrapathi Bhavan officials with Delhi police. It was mentioned in the complaint that a tweet put up by Lalit modi was referring to President Pranab Mukherjee’s secretary Omitha Paul. Delhi police received the complaint that was dispatched from Rashtrapathi Bhavan. Tweets put up by Modi on 23rd and 25th june were also attacked to the complaint. To his tweet, Modi attacked an 80-page file that consists of photographs of President Pranab Mukherjee, his secretary and Vivek Nagpal.
Lalit Modi alleged that Pranab Mukherjee as a Finance Minister favored Vivek Nagpal in past. He said pushed Enforcement Directorate to act against him after he raised questions about the shareholding pattern in Kochi franchise of IPL cricket tournament leading to the resignation of Shashi Tharoor from the Union government. The complaint was sent from Rashtrapathi Bhavan to Delhi police commissioner Bassi, who forwarded it to the Economic offenses wing for necessary action. Legal opinion is being sought whether the case could be registered for criminal defamation as the tweets intended to defame the President and his office.
It is known that Lalit Modi’s money laundering case is being probed into by Enforcement Directorate.
