Deceased Nurse Aruna Shanbaug 68th Birthday Celebrations
Deceased Mumbai nurse Aruna Shanbaug’s 68th birthday was grandly celebrated in KEM hospital. Aruna who was in coma for 42 years, following her rape in KEM had recently passed away. Nurses and doctors in the hospital celebrated her birthday by decorating room no. 4 and paid floral tributes to Aruna by placing them on her bed. They cut a cake and greeted each other. KEM Deen Avinash Supe said that nurses of the hospital were requesting that room in which Aruna lived ie., room number 4 be named after her and that an announcement will soon be made reagarding it. Maharashtra state’s CM Devendra Fadnavis had earlier announced that a nursing school in Thane was named after Aruna Shanbaug. On the other hand, the Marathi film ‘Vyadha Arunachi’ made based on the lifestory of Aruna, written by journalist Neha Purav would be releasing this evening.
