Devi Sri Prasad as Hero; Sukumar to Direct DSP
Popular South Indian music composer Devi Sri Prasad is all set to make his debut as hero. News that DSP will debut as hero in a film was announced by Producer Dil Raju. A project starring Devi in lead role, directed by Sukumar and produced by Dil Raju is soon going to hit the floors. Rathnavelu will lookafter cinematography of the film.
Director Sukumar and Devi Sri Prasad have been friends and Devi composed music for many films (Arya, Jagadam, Arya-2) directed by Sukumar. For Sukumar’s recent flick Kumari 21F also, DSP rendered tunes. For his forthcoming project Nannaku Prematho with NTR also, DSP is composing tunes. Out of the closeness between the two, when Sukumar asked DSP to star in a film, the music director accepted, say sources. In fact, DSP was offered lead roles in many films about 10 years ago. Even star film makers like Aswini Dutt and many Tamil and Telugu producers asked DSP to play roles in their films but he disagreed. Since it is best friend Sukumar who asked now, Devi could not say no to him.
Devi Sri Prasad, s/o writer Satyamurthy, began his career as music director with the film ‘Devi’. He gained name and fame as a successful director within no time. In his 16 year old career in film industry, Devi Sri Prasad delivered several super hit tunes for umpteen films in Telugu and Tamil languages. DSP is multitalented. Apart from composing tunes, he is well-versed with singing. Also he is a great writer. Devi penned down a song for the first time for the film ‘Anandam’, followed by ‘Shankara Dada MBBS’ and ‘Shakara Dada Zindabad’ films of megastar Chiranjeevi; ‘Gabbar Singh’, ‘Attharintiki Daredi’ films of powerstar Pawan kalyan; ‘Julayi’, ‘Iddarammayilatho’, ‘S/O Satyamurthy’ for stylish star Allu Arjun.
Audiences are thrilled by dance moves of DSP in audio launches and special occasions. In promotional songs of some films for which he delivered audio, Devi simply rocked with his dance steps. Devi Sri Prasad is multitalented. He organised his career very well. Though DSP got hero chances in the beginning of his career, he rejected them and proved himself a successful music director. He is now gearing up to prove himself in front of the camera as well.
