Doctors Remove 173 Coins from Person’s Stomach
Doctors of Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) in Bellary removed 173 coins from a person’s stomach. In the rare surgery conducted in Karnataka, many rupee, 5 rupee, 10 rupee coins were extracted from patient’s stomach. A 50-year-old man of Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh who is currently residing in Sindhanur taluk in Raichur district swallowed coins as he was mentally challenged. When he complained to family members of increased stomach ache, difficulty in urination and respiration, lack of apetite, they admitted him to VIMS in Bellary. On scanning the man’s stomach, doctors found many coins inside. A surgery was immediately conducted by surgeons to extract them. A total of 173 coins were removed by doctors, who said that the patient is now doing well in the hospital.
