Driver’s Drowsy Driving Caused Dhavaleswaram Van Accident
The Dhavaleswaram van accident has proved once again the effects of drowsy diving. A cruiser van fell from the Dhavaleswaram barrage into river Godavari last night at around 10 pm. The van first hit the footpath, then the railing and finally fell in the river. Seeing the depth to which the vehicle has gone (50 feet), the severity of the accident can be estimated. It is observed that the drowsiness of the van’s driver caused the ghastly accident. Out of the 23 people present in the van, 22 died on spot. While the accident occurred between 10 and 11 pm last night, it was witnessed only after dawn ie., around 6 am. The casualities include 6 women and 7 children.
