Indian students set Guinness World Record as the most people dressed as Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the Nation on 2nd October, on account of Gandhi Jayanthi.
A staggering 4,605 school children gathered to celebrate the 146th birthday of India’s renowned non-violent activist Mohandas Gandhi and to spread his values of peace and inclusiveness in record-breaking style at Kanteerava stadium in Bangalore, India last Friday. Pupils aged between 6 and 14 from Venkat, St. Ann’s and Venus Group of Institutions school took part in the attempt for the Largest gathering of people dressed as Mohandas Gandhi title, and after four hours of getting into position, they successfully achieved a new world record. Everyone wore Gandhi’s traditional Indian dhoti and shawl, and sported false moustaches, bald caps, glasses and bamboo sticks. The record challenge was organised in remembrance of the legend’s sacrifices during his life-long fight for civil rights and freedom for everyone across the globe.
