Hoarding Collapse at Jubilee Hills Check Post


Winds blowing at 100 kmph and heavy rain that occurred for about half an hour in Hyderabad yesterday evening have caused a lot of damage in the city. The condition was very bad that the National Disaster Relieve Force had to get into action. A huge hoarding collapsed before Maruti Suzuki Nexa car showroom at Jubilee Hills Check post, damaging eight cars. A person died in Attapur due to wall collapse and another due to water tank collapse in Bhavani Nagar. Traffic jam was witnessed in most of the areas in Hyderabad. Motorists had to wait hours to travel even short distances. Nearly 200 trees collapsed and 67 transformers were down due to the wind and rain. The city water and sewerage board authorities have constituted 29 Emergency Responsive Teams (ERTs) to tackle the emergency situations during the coming rainy season.
