Huge Whale Washes Ashore on Mumbai Beach
A whale as big as 30 feet washed ashore on Mumbai’s Juhu beach on Thursday night. It is said to be a Bryde’s whale and weighs about four tonnes. The huge sea animal was found by passersby at 10 pm last night. Officials of Forest and Police departments are examining the spotted whale. They say that it might have died two or three days ago. “There could be many reasons – sound pollution under water, pollution from industries, plastic consumption, or even disease, since the animal has no external injuries,” said Animesh Limaye, an expert from Reefwatch India.
