Hundreds of Tourists Trapped due to Uttarakhand Floods



Uttarakhand state is being devastated by floods. Transport services to the region have been interrupted as roads and bridges collapsed due to floods. Trains have also been halted. Those tourists who are in Uttarakhand on Char Dham yatra are experiencing hell at the place. Almost 900 tourists trapped in Kedarnath, Hemkund, Sahebe, Badrinath areas were shifted by helicopters to safe zones. Officials estimate that about 9 thousand people are still trapped in various places. The Air Force is performing rescue operations for shifting trapped people by helicopters. The collapsing of bridges is interrupting the rescue operations. Flood affected regions are being monitored by officials.
