IIFA Awards Event Postponed-Chennai Floods
The IIFA Utsavam & Awards are eagerly awaited by Indian movie buffs around the world and this time there the event has been planned in Hyderabad in a prestigious manner. It is known that Chennai floods have resulted in devastating consequences. Organizers of IIFA Awards are humane enough to have decided to postpone the event. In this kind of a situation, organizers do not want to carry out any function and the event will be scheduled later in the month of January.
“In the wake of the tragic floods and a state of emergency in Chennai, Team IIFA Utsavam in solidarity with people in Chennai, has decided to postpone the inaugural celebrations that were scheduled on the 4th to 6th December. The 1st edition in conjunction with the film industries of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada & Malayalam will now be held as a fund raiser in early January 2016. The IIFA leadership with all key stakeholders, the South Indian film industry and the hon’ble Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and hon’ble Governor of Telangana ESL Narasimhan took a unanimous decision to postpone the event”, IIFA revealed in a statement.
