Intense Earthquake in North India
An intense earthquake occurred in Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi and some parts of North India. It recorded a magnitude of 7.5 on Richter scale. With the epicentre lying in Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan, the earthquake occurred at 2:45 PM this afternoon and lasted for 7 minutes. Residents and people in the areas evacuated their houses and other buildings. Some people who experienced tremors told media that tremors were intense and they were terrified. Metro rail service and telecom services had been halted for a while. Tremors were observed in National Capital Region (NCR), Srinagar, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan also. Earthquake recently occurred on 9th October in capital New Delhi. It was a mild one with a magnitude of 3.0.
