Legal Notices to Bollywood Hero Aamir Khan for Satyamev Jayate
Bollywood actor, producer of popular TV show Satyamev Jayate, Aamir Khan was sent legal notices by an activist in Mumbai for using the emblem of the country as the title of the programme allegedly. Notices were also sent to Aamir Khan’s wife, Satyamev Jayate’s co-producer, Kiran Rao and the show’s creator Satyajit Bhaktal for not seeking central government’s permission for making use of the emblem ‘Satyamev Jayate’. The name ‘Satyamev Jayate’ is a part of the national emblem, says Manoranjan Roy, the activist. National emblem cannot be used to get monetary benefit or for the purpose of advertisement. The notice, sent by advocate Manoj Singh on Roy’s behalf, demands that producers of the show furnish a copy of government permission, failing which he said that legal proceedings will be initiated against them.
