Live-In Relationship is Acceptable: Supreme Court
The Supreme Court on Thursday said that live-in relationship is no offence and it has become common in society now. “In the present modern time live-in relationship has become an acceptable norm. It is not a crime,” the court said. A bench of justices Dipak Mishra and Prafulla C Pant said these words when asking government whether disclosing a public figure’s live-in relationship will result in defamation.
However, Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi replied to the SC that public should not look into the personal life of a public figure and it serves no public interest. But will the Indian culture accept live-in relationship being made acceptable? What would happen to the youth in our country? These have become the topics of discussion after Supreme Court’s judgement on live-in relationship.
