Luxembourg PM Xavier’s Grand Gay Wedding
The wedding of Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel (42) took place grandly with his gay partner. Xavier last night in Luxembourg town hall married his same-sex partner, an architect, Gauthier Destenay with all rituals performed. The wedding was attended by Prime Minister of Belgium, Charles Michel and 500 other guests. Xavier Bettel is the first leader in the European Union of 28 countries to enter into a same-sex union. Bettel is the second in the world to have same-sex wedding after Iceland’s Prime Minister Johanna Sigurdardottir, who married her lesbian partner in 2010. Xavier took charge as Prime Minister of Luxembourg in December, 2013. Bettel and Gauthier have been in live-in relationship even before he took charge.
