M.S.Viswanathan is No More..

Veteran music director M.S.Viswanathan who was suffering from respiratory ailments since a few days is no more. He took his last breath early morning on Tuesday while being treated in Apollo hospital in Chennai.

The Mellisai Mannar (Tamil for “The King of Light Music”). Born in Plakkad on 24th june, 1928, Viswanathan composed songs in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada,Hindi for over 1200 films. He rendered music for about 30 telugu films. MS Viswanathan initially worked as a member of SV Venkatraman’s musical troupe. He then joined S. M. Subbaiah Naidu and at times assisted him. Later Viswanathan joined C. R. Subburaman’s musical troupe as a harmonium player. That was when he met T. K. Ramamoorthy. The duo started composing tunes and they continued for around 100 films. The duo composed tunes for sensational telugu films like Laila Majnu, Devadasu etc. Viswanathan independently started composing music in 1965. Aakali Rajyam, Anthuleni Katha, Maro Charitra, Idi Katha Kadhu and many more superhit movies have his wonderful music.

MS Viswanathan was a popular music director who won several awards for his outstanding work in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Korada.com pays tributes to such a great music maestro. Rest In Peace..
