Maggi Banned in Uttarakhand; Shiv Sena Supports Bollywood Stars
The Government of one more state has imposed ban on Maggi noodles. The Uttarakhand government said that Maggi is banned in the state as it contains more that permissible levels of lead. The states of Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi have already banned sale of Maggi in respective outlets.
On the other hand, Shiv Sena party stood in support of the Bollywood stars associated with Maggi. The party said that it is not right to accuse the stars who casted in ads of Maggi for the product containing high level of chemicals. It warned the celebrities who appear in ads to be careful. Shiv Sena leader, MLC, Neelam Gohri questioned what the quality control board was doing while Maggi had been going beyong limits. She said that many have poisoned their health due to negligence of officials. She suggested that brand ambassadors ie., models and actors of any product know completely about it before advertising. It is known that bollywood stars Madhuri Dixit, Amitabh Bachchan and Priety Zinta were roped in Maggi’s issue.
