Maggi Pasta has High Lead Content
Popular food company Nestle which is currently recovering from Maggi instant noodles issue has got another blow. Maggi pasta by Nestle is allegedly found to contain lead more than permissible levels.
Due to allegations that Nestle pasta also contains high levels of lead, sample of the product were collected and sent to laboratory for examination on 10th June. “After Maggi, the sample of macroni pasta was taken from Mau and sent to National Food Analysis Laboratory, Lucknow, in which lead was found to be much more that the permissible limit,” said Arvind Yadav, an officer at Food and Drug Administration. Lead content in food product should not exceed 2.5 ppm but in pasta, it was found to be 6 ppm. It is known Maggi instant noodles were banned in the country for a few months for the same reason and they are back in market now.
