Mani Ratnam Calls off Multilingual Project
Veteran director Mani Ratnam, soon after the success of OK Bangaram, has attempted a multi starrer film in both Telugu and Tamil languages. He prepared a story and also did the casting part for it. He wanted Karthi and Dulquer Salmaan to play the lead roles in the film. But due to date allotment issues, Telugu hero Nani was roped in for the film. Later Nithya Menen remained in the team but Keerthy Suresh, the other female lead has walked out of the project. The constant changes in the cast have irked the director and he now seems to have been upset with not moving forward with the script. Mani Ratnam needs dates of the actors in bulk, which requires the actors to spend a lot of time for this film. This resulted in Mani Ratnam calling off the project since it did not seem to work out. Sources from Kollywood reveal that due to casting issues, the director has taken a decision on cancelling the film and he will be working on a new film soon.
