Netaji’s Files to be Made Public by Government
The West Bengal government will be releasing Netaji Subash Chandra Bose’s files on 18th September. Files pertaining to Netaji when he was in the state government’s custody will be made public, announced W.B CM Mamata Banerjee today. “We are doing it for the sake of accountability and transparency. People should know. Netaji lived here, engaged in political activities from here, launched his truggles from here but we do not know anything about his disappearance from here. It remained a mystery.People deserve to know his last days”, said the CM when she addressed media at a press meet held at the state secretariat at Nabanna. Mamata Banerjee mentioned that Netaji’s file from 1937-1947 will be made public at Kolkata Police Archives. It is known that the central government refused to provide information on Netaji’s reported death under the Right to Information Act last year.
