NHRC:’Why is Judicial Probe not Ordered in Seshachalam Encounter Case?’

Seshachalam encounter hearing was conducted by National Human Rights Commission today, which was attended by police officers of the 2 states Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The NHRC saw red and questioned AP government why a judiciary probe was not conducted in the case though 2 weeks had passed since the encounter took place. The state government was asked to furnish details of wireless communication relating to the incident and medical reports regarding injuries sustained by police personnel in the incident. NHRC has decided to inspect the encounter spot thoroughly. On behalf of AP state government, Additional DGP Vinay Rai submitted detailed report regarding the encounter. Seshachalam encounter has taken place on 7th april in Chittoor district in which 20 red sander smugglers were killed.
