North Korea Announces First Hydrogen Bomb Test
North Korea has finally done it. The country has tested its first Hydrogen bomb that is hundreds of times more powerful than an atom bomb. North Korea announced to have done it at nuclear test site Punggye-ri in the country. The Hydrogen bomb test was conducted at 10:00 AM this morning and it gave out seismic event, which resulted in tremors of magnitude 5.1, announced US Geological Survey.
The hydrogen bomb is very much powerful than an atom bomb. In a Hydrogen bomb, nuclear fusion is used to combine atoms of Hydrogen to create huge amounts of energy, much more than that generated by fission reactions. This bomb is very powerful and cause much more disaster than the atom bombs (plutonium) that North Korea used earlier. The Hydrogen bomb that North Korea has now tested is three times more powerful than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. The announcement on a North Korean news agency stated “The republic’s first hydrogen bomb test has been successfully performed at 10:00 am on January 6, 2016. If there’s no invasion on our sovereignty we will not use nuclear weapon. This H-bomb test brings us to a higher level of nuclear power”.
The UN security council organized an emergency meeting on the reported nuclear testi. Neighbouring countries like South Korea, China, Japan are furious on North Korea for the Hydrogen bomb test. The experiment being conducted two days before Kim Jong-un’s birthday has made news all around the world.
