One will Die a Dog’s Death if he Sleep on Roads: Singer Abhijeet

Bollywood playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya and designer Farah Ali Khan made controversial comments in response to court convicting Salman Khan in hit-and-run case. Abhijeet tweeted “Kutta rd pe soyega kutte ki maut marega, roads garib ke baap ki nahi hai I ws homles an year nvr slept on rd.” which translates to “If a dog sleeps on the road, it will die a dog’s death. The poor and homeless must not sleep on roads… I too was homeless once, but never slept on road.”

Designer Farah tweeted in full support of Salman Khan who has been sentenced for 5 years saying that pavement dwelling victims were responsible for the hit-and-run as they should not have been sleeping on the road in the first place because it is ‘as dangerous as crossing the tracks’. She then went on to say that Salman is a good human who did not want to kill anyone but had to pay the price. Also his punishment shouldn’t be too harsh because the livelihood of many people depended on Salman being out of prison. She also gave explanation to these previously made comments of hers’ saying that she had no intention of mocking homeless people and the government should be responsible for housing people. Singer Abhijeet later clarified that his intention was saying ‘a human does not deserve to die a dog’s death’.
