Only Special Package for AP, No Special Status: Arun Jaitley
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley once again stated that the 14th finance commission report is not supportive to granting special status for Andhra Pradesh. However, he said that the state will be provided with a special package. Arun Jaitley addressed media along with CM AP Chandrababu Naidu today. “It is true that special status for AP was asked at the time of state division to be granted for 20 years but what can be done when constitution does not agree to it?” he questioned. He promised implementation of all aspects mentioned in AP state reorganization act. Arun Jaitley mentioned that he along with Niti Ayog chairman took part in CM Chandrababu’s meeting with PM Narendra Modi. He mentioned that AP was financially aided to certain extent by government during first year after election.
