Ragging Kills One More Student
One more student took his life because of ragging. He informed his parents about the trouble he was facing. He also complained to college management about ragging by seniors. Being unable to tolerate the management considering the matter as not important, he wrote a note that reads ‘Please Stop Ragging’ and killed himself on railway track when Khazipet train of Warangal smashed him.
According to details provided by Khazipet GRPF Inspector and the victim’s family members, Sai Nath (20) is the son of Vadlakonda Kanakaiah and Ailamma of Abraham Nagarin Rama Krishnapur of Adilabad ditrict. He joined CMR Engineering College in Medchel of Ranga Reddy district on 18th august to pursue B.Tech. He got admitted into ECE branch and resided in hostel. He told his parents a number of times on phone that seniors were harassing him. Since none was bothered about his trouble, Sai Nath committed suicide.
His body was recovered by railway police on Tuesday morning. They checked his bag and found Aadhar card, College ID card and also a suicide note. ‘Please stop the ragging. If seniors had not done it that way that day, I would not be in this situation today’. Based on address mentioned on aadhar card, police informed his family members about his death. Post-mortem was conducted at MGM Hospital and the boy’s bodywas handed over to his family members. Last rites were performed on Tuesday evening.
Medchel police started investigating the case. When they visited CMR College, management was unavailable. They questioned Principal Janga Reddy who was present at college. Police are inquiring to know who the students responsible for ragging are.
