RBI Deadline for Exchanging Pre-2005 Notes Extended by 6 Months
The Reserve Bank of India extended deadline for exchanging pre-2005 currency notes of Rs. 500 and Rs.1,000 by 6 months. The deadline that was fixed earlier was 30th june. But on considering the requests put forward by public, account holders, the RBI extended date to the end of the year ie., till 31st December. This is the third time that the deadline is extended by RBI. RBI officials have been reminding the public to exchange pre-2005 printed currency notes in banks. It is known that RBI has made the decision to eradicate black money and fake currency in the country.
