RGV’s Strong Counter to Adoption of Villages
Ram Gopal Varma who constantly makes news with his tweets rather than films has recently lashed at celebs over adoption of villages. RGV’s tweets this time seem logical. He strongly countered film stars and celebrities coming forward to adopt villages. ‘What if a Hollywood star comes forward and says he would like to adopt India? Is it not an insult to the country? In the same way, it is an insult if celebs come forward and say that they would like to adopt villages?’ he tweeted.
“I find this whole thing of celebs adopting villages very insulting to villages..No self respecting village will allow itself to be adopted. Do People who adopt think villages are orphans or beggars or handicapped or what?
If villages have any self respect they should protest. Any village who is willing to be adopted is actually admitting that its depending on left over morsels thrown at it by the rich and famous. They say villages are the strength of the country and then they insult them by telling the whole world the villages live on their mercy.
If Normal stars also are adopting a village should very powerful stars adopt many many many villages ? I think it’s a conspiracy of government to incite the rich and the famous to adopt villages so that it itself doesn’t need to do anything.
Villages should try to become cities and not depend on charity of people who adopt them ..Then only they will respectfully develop. Adoptation will lead to kingdom culture as celeb who adopted village wil think himself as king of village bcos village depended on his mercy.
I wonder if any celebrity will adopt the back lanes of Ameerpet in Hyderabad.I think there are more poor people there than in many villages. Villages atleast have so called green fields and supposedly pure air ..Dirty back lanes in cities don’t have that too ..who will adopt them?
I don’t think any celeb will have a heart enough to adopt the people living along side the dirtiest place on the planet ..The Musi River. Poor villagers if they have self respect should rebel against the charity giving rich people and work hard to become rich people themselves” is what he exactly posted on Twitter.
KORADA.COM ‘s Opinion on RGV’s Posts:
RGV who often makes controversial posts sometimes comes up with valid points and raises relevant questions. Tweets made by Ram Gopal Varma over adoption of villages have in depth meaning. It is not correct to blame all celebrities that they are adopting villages out of selfishness or to satisfy their ego. There are many celebrities who truly have the intention to do some good to society. Another tweet Varma made was that government is inciting celebrities and wealthy to help poor so that it need not do anything. These words by RGV are absolutely true. Our governments spend crores of funds under the name of rural development. If measures like directly giving away Rs.1 crore to each of the 2.5 lakh villages in our country, asking them to fulfill needs of their village, ordering inquiry in case corruption is witnessed and sending guilty to jail within 6 months are taken up, almost all villages in the country would have been developed.
Giving Rs.1 crore to each village in four years ie., Rs.2.5 lakh crores to all villages in a period of four years is not of great difficulty for the central government that has a budget of Rs.10 lakh crores. With the one crore rupees fund released by government for each of the villages, minimum facilities can be possible without the help or sympathy of anyone. It has been 70 years since India got independence but none of the governments so far made the decision of directly providing funds to villages. Government emphasizing on adoption of villages clearly says that it is escaping from its responsibilities. Ram Gopal Varma is absolutely right in saying this. Koratala Siva has directed a movie that encourages people to adopt villages. Would it not be great if RGV directs a film that shows how villages could develop by themselves and inspire people…?
