Robot as Heroine in Japanese Film
An android robot called Geminoid F that looks like a woman has played lead role Leona in Japanese film Sayonara. This is the first film to cast a robot as a lead actress. Other films feature robot roles but they are played by humans or shown through graphics. Sayonara comes with the backdrop of a deadly nuclear power plant disaster in Japan. Geminoid F acts like a human being. It looks like a woman. Expressions of the robot were controlled in the film using a laptop. Geminoid F was made by robotics expert Hiroshi Ishiguro at Osaka University in japan. His androids are usually worth around Rs.7,83,78,562 but Geminoid F is worth just Rs. 72,72,238. Sayonara is all set for release on 21st November in Japan.
