SC Stays Criminal Proceedings on MS Dhoni
Team India one-day captain M.S.Dhoni gets relief in Supreme Court as it stayed criminal proceedings in the criminal case filed against him for as Lord Vishnu avtar and hurting religious sentiments of Hindus. A business magazine published this photograph of Dhoni’s on its cover page. Complaint was filed against Dhoni by Hindu right activist Jaya Kumar with the Karnataka High Court. It was mentioned in the complaint that in a photograph published by a leading magazine, the cricketer holds things in hands in the avtar of Lord Vishnu and that it hurts the religious sentiments of Hindus. He demanded that FIR be filed on the magazine, Dhoni and editor of magazine. With this, case was filed against M.S.Dhoni. Hearing on the case is currently being conducted in Bengaluru court. Dhoni appealed to Supreme Court to relieve him from pending criminal proceedings in Bengaluru Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court. The SC that conducted hearing on this stayed the proceedings on Dhoni.
