School Management Cuts Hair of a Student
A school-going boy’s students were upset over school management cutting their child’s hair. They alleged that some teachers willingly embarrassed their son at school by doing so. This incident took place in Mumbai.
The boy’s parents said that he is studying 10th standard in Activity High School on Peddar Road in South Mumbai. They lodged a complaint with Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MS-CPCR) alleging that their son was dragged out of his classroom on 24th September by school management who then asked a barber to give the boy a haircut. They questioned why the boy needed a cut for the second time when he already got it done on 20th September. The parents complained that the boy felt humiliated for being given a cut infront of all other students at school and stopped going to school. They demanded action against the school management. The school’s Principal on the other hand said that haircut should be given as per dresscode of the school and those students who do not follow it will be given a cut at school by barber.
