Smriti Irani Fires on Sonia Gandhi for Criticizing Sushma Swaraj
Union Minister Smriti Irani fired on Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi for criticizing Sushma Swaraj over Lalit Modi’s issue for drama jibe and demanding her resignation. She commented that they are not used to working hard, unlike Sushma Swaraj. She supported the External Minister that she worked hard to earn her living.
The Congress party leaders addressed the Foreign Minister as “an expert in theatrics” whose family received money from tainted cricket tycoon Lalit Modi to stay out of jail. “Woman who works hard and whose daughter has worked hard to earn”, said Smriti Irani about Sushma. “The Gandhi family is an exception. They don’t toil in the sun to earn their bread. I condemn this kind of allegation. The Congress is running away from discussion as they have no proof. What do they know about khoon pasiney ki kamai (hard-earned money)? It is easier to give a 1.5 minute bite than a 1.5 hour speech” she said, firing on Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Coming to Sonia’s ‘theatrics’ comment on Sushma Swaraj, Smriti questioned her “Is parliament a theatre?”. It is known that Congress had been demanding resignation from External affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj as it was alleged that she reportedly assisted former IPL chairman Lalit Modi, accused in IPL money laundering, in his Visa affairs.
