Sun TV’s 33 Channels Blocked?

Sun TV, the biggest south Indian media network is received blow from Ministry of Home Affairs. The MHA denied security clearance to the 33 network-owned channels, because of which Sun network channels may go off air. The MHA reportedly denied clearance as the company’s chairman Kalanidhi Maran and brother Dayanidhi have been accused in various cases. The Sun TV group said that it has not received any notifications so far from the Home Ministry. The group has decided to approach court if they receive any. Sun TV’s shares have fallen down by 25% in stock market. Share value has gone down from 356 to 295. There are currently two pending criminal probes against the Maran brothers. They are the Aircel-Maxis case and illegal usage of 300 high speed BSNL lines.
