Supreme Court Rejects AP Private Travels’ Petition

The Supreme Court rejected petition by Andhra Pradesh private bus operators. A petition was filed by private travels in Andhra Pradesh against the state entry tax levied by Telangana government. As the case was also put forward before the High Court, the SC ordered that it has to be dealt with and closed at the earliest. The Telangana State entry tax is being levied on vehicles of Andhra Pradesh that enter Telangana province. A petition was initially filed by certain private travel vehicle owners in High court  against collection of tax on Andhra vehicles. When the HC made clear that payment of tax is mandatory, those persons approached the Supreme Court.
