Terror Attack on Pakistan University
Terrorists attacked a University in northwest Pakistan this morning at 9:30 AM local time. Armed men rushed into the campus of Bacha Khan University located in Charsadda, 29 km away from Peshawar city in Pakistan. Around 3,000 students and 600 staff members have been evacuated by security forces from the campus. They killed two of the armed men, announced a popular news channel. While the battle between terrorists and security forces is still going on, the exact number of gunmen who sneaked into the university is unknown. Witnesses mentioned that they heard the noise of explosion and firing. Three security guards, one lecturer and one student have been severely injured but no casualties have been reported so far.
“All students have been evacuated from the hostels, but militants are still hiding in different parts of the university and some students and staff members are stuck inside,” said Deputy Inspector General Saeed Wazir. He said that around 70% of people have been rescued from the campus.
It is known that the attack on Peshawar in December 2014 by 6 gunmen massacred 134 school children.
