Three States are Blocking Special Status for AP
Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju made commented over Andhra Pradesh’s special status issue today. He said that Tamil Nadu, Karnata and Maharashtra are blocking special status from being grant to Andhra Pradesh. The union minister mentioned that the finance commission also feels the need of special category status to AP. However, MPs of these 3 states are lobbying it, he said. Speaking more on the issue, Ashok Gajapathi Raju said, “Even though leaders of all political parties at the state-level were united on the special status, there was no such unity at the central level. That is one of the reasons why special status has become an unattainable grape”.
