Top LeT Commander Qasim Killed
Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) top commander was killed in encounter. Gunfire between security forces and militants took place on Wednesday night at Bandipora which is 40 km away from Srinagar. Qasim was killed during the firing. Militants opened fire last night at border security troops. That was when the security forces rounded the forest area and, terrorists and army men opened fire at each other. A soldier of the army’s 14 Rashtriya Rifles was killed by militants during the fire. Qasim was the key person in Udhampur attacks in june, 2013 when 8 soldiers were killed by militants. Qasim is also accused in the killing of Intelligence police official Altaf Ahmad. Reward of Rs.20 lakhs has been announced for those who get Qasim arrested. His death came as a stroke to terrorists in Jammu & Kashmir.
