Two New IPL Teams
Two new teams will be playing in Indian Premiere League (IPL). BCCI announced today that Pune and Rajkot franchises will be playing during next two seasons of IPL. The decision has been made today during a meeting of IPL Governing Council in Delhi.
It is known that two IPL teams Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) were suspended by Supreme Court for involvement of owners of the teams in IPL betting scandal in 2013. So, the BCCI has replaced the suspended teams with new ones Pune and Rajkot for two years. The Pune franchise was bought by New Rising, Kolkata-based business tycoon Sanjiv Goenka’s company. The Rajkot was bought by Intex Mobiles. There are chances that top 5 players from both suspended teams could get place in the new ones. Selction of players will be done on 15th of this month.
