Wipro, HCL Chairmen Among 20 World Richest in Tech: Forbes
Wipro Chairman Azim Premji and HCL Founder and Chairman Shiv Nadar made to the list of 20 World’s richest people in technology by Forbes Magazine. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates topped the list announced by Forbes. Azim Premji ranked 13th and Shiv Nadar, 14th on the list of world’s richest technology tycoons. Romesh Wadhwani of Symphony Technology Group and Bharat Desai of Syntel of Indian origin were also listed by Forbes. Premji has a net worth of $17.4 billion (nearly Rs.1130 crore), Nadar, $14.4 billion (Rs.935 crore). The list was occupied mostly (upto 51 slots) by American billionaires. Asians occupied 33 positions. Bill Gates, the world’s richest man, ranks number 1 among tech tycoons, with a net worth of $79.6 billion (Rs.5163 crore). Number two on the list is Ellison of Oracle with a net worth estimated at $50 billion (around Rs.3244 crore). The list includes Jeff Bezos, Ceo of Amazon in 3rd position, Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg at rank 4, followed by Google co-founder Larry Page at 5, Alibabachief Jack Ma, Google’s Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick and Square CEO Jack Dorsey. In total, the world’s 100 richest tech billionaires are worth $842.9 billion (Rs.54,616 crores).
