Woman Sues Coca Cola for Not Arranging Date with Hrithik Roshan
A woman from Haryana sued Coca-Cola Company for not arranging date with Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan. Going into detail… 15 years ago, a young woman named Shikha Monga (34-now) from Panchakula of Haryana had won a contest by Coca-Cola, which said it would a date to her with Hrithik Roshan. Since the company failed to arrange the date, the woman approached court demanding Rs.2.5 crore from Coca-Cola. According to Shikha, Coca-Cola Contest was held in 2000 and prizes were mentioned at the back of crown of Coca-Cola bottles. Shikha was more interested in meeting Hrithik rather than the money she won. Though she made several requests and wrote to the company to keep up their promise of arranging a meeting with Hrithik Roshan. As the company did not respond to her, she finally approached court and filed a complaint claiming insult in society and damage she incurred in 2003 June because of Coca-Cola. panchakula”Everybody in college, friends and relatives used to ask me about my meeting and dinner with Hrithik. I lost my reputation and was labelled as a liar in the society and have no alternative but to file the suit for damages,” Shikha mentioned in her complaint.
Civil judge (senior division), K K Jain of Chandigarh district court, issued the notice while allowing a 12-year-old application by Shikha Monga on the maintainability of her suit. With these orders, she need not pay Rs 2.43 lakh as court fee for the suit. “It is duly proved on record that applicant is not possessed of sufficient means to pay the court fee and she is indigent and as a squeal thereto. The application is allowed to pursue with this suit being from a pauper/indigent person,” observed the court in its order. Coca Cola has been asked to file a reply by August 18.
