Runtime woes for Brahmotsavam
Superstar Mahesh Babu’s upcoming family entertainer is inching towards completion. Except for a song, the entire shooting has been wrapped up. Meanwhile, the makers have planned to release the music of the film on May 7 in Hyderabad. The Mickey J Meyer musical has 8 songs in the album and it is learnt that the makers have decided to offload two songs among them in the film. With the runtime of the film already standing at 2 hours and 35 minutes, the makers are cynical as to how the audiences receive the film. “Mahesh Babu is very keen on the runtime. He doesn’t want to take chances and suggested Srikanth Addala and Prasad V Potluri to toss out a couple of songs and some scenes only to make the things crisp. Perhaps, he doesn’t want to repeat the mistake he did for Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, which has excessive runtime and goes on a tad slow pace,” informs a source. The film is slotted for release on May 20.
